In the aftermath of a bloody gang war, the youngest daughter of the victorious Arab clan begins to plot against the men of her family. She kills brothers, nephews, friends and enemies, until she is the undisputed boss of the Berlin underworld. But on her path to the top, she has made powerful enemies…

A filmed play, a Shakespearean text, a rather polished (but static) visual style, a dramatic concept borrowing from the great myths and a quality electronic soundtrack are not enough to make a good film. The proof is in this Kein Tier So Wild, which returns us to a fashion video aesthetic, without succeeding in what Tom Ford or Bonello were able to do, i.e., offer a beautiful piece of cinema. This is precisely because of the stereotypical staging, the incompatible direction of the actors, who deprive us of any connection with reality, and the extreme concept that transposes Berlin into a city where two Arabic-speaking families (one wonders why) engage in a merciless, but almost bloodless, battle. We’re in a theater, or even an opera, but the director of the rather successful Berlin Alexanderplatz never manages to captivate us with images, emotions or dramaturgy; at most, we admire some of the finely photographed shots, and we’re left electrified by the harmonious, omnipresent soundtrack.
