Adam McKay's background is in directing for the small screen. His early career included directing several episodes of Saturday night live. His work for the big screen was hailed in 2016 by winning the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for The big short. Five years later, the American filmmaker delivers Don't look up: Cosmic Denial, a new blockbuster he also co-wrote with David Sirota. Beyond the spectacle provided, this Netflix production released on the eponymous streaming platform enjoys an impressive cast composed of, among others, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill and Mark Rylance. The usual reading of Don't look up in the press invokes the climate issue. Our reading is quite different. We explain why.
